My 'ocean2ocean' campaign
Hi everyone, I am Lois!
On September 13th 2009 I am attempting to sail round the world in the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race. I am trying to do a complete the whole circumnavigation of the planet. I am an amateur sailor but that is what this race is about – ordinary people doing extra-ordinary things.
I have grown up in Dorset and will be proud to represent my county in The Clipper Round The World Yacht Race. I have learnt to windsurf in Portland and can be found regularly enjoying the wind and waves of our coastline. I am so pleased that or region has been chosen for the 2012 Olympic Games sailing venue, it is an ideal location for it. I hope that it will help to promote our region nationally and internationally.
The aim of this website is to allow you to see what my challenge is about and to track my progress throughout the race. It will also promote the region of Weymouth, Portland and the Jurassic Coastline in terms of tourism, business networking and promotion.
